The Counter Burgers..Set for Success
The Counter opened Monday at Kahala Mall, preceded by a press release stating that there are more than 321,000 possible combinations of burgers from the build-your-own format. Ten different types of cheese, 28 toppings 18 sauces and three different buns provide the additions to burgers made from Angus beef, grilled chicken, turkey, veggies and seafood. The combo math is dizzying, but the good news is local chef/ restaurateur DK Kodama is at the helm. Partners in the franchise venture include LOST actor Daniel Dae Kim. That's DKK and DDK. I’ll take a vowel, please Pat…The Counter’s late night opening hours (till 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday) should appeal to those looking for late night gourmet munchies after the movies at Kahala Mall…Beer and wine available too, and great news, Master Sommelier Chuck Furuya is doing the wine pairings… look for fabulous selections of Pinot Noir Zinfandel and Shiraz from about $7 a glass.
